Nutrition: The Secret Sauce
Nutrition: The Secret Sauce
The next best nutritional fad. Is anyone else tired of there always being a newly discovered secret in the nutrition world?
I know I am. The endless onslaught on nonsense is overwhelming. Fat is killing us. Nope wait, sugar is making us fat. Glutens are the devil. Wait… you drink milk!? That moldy cow udder pus is going to kill you….
What about energy drinks? They’ve been hammered hard the last few years. If you look on the internet, you’ll find all types of ridiculous statistics about them. Most of which are completely false and propagated by someone selling something “better”.
If you look back and really pay attention, you’ll notice the trends. Heard of the Atkins diet? What about keto? It seems the industry continues to go in waves confusing people just enough to encourage them to purchase the next “new” thing.
How about we just start with the simple truth instead of trying to vilify lifeless things that play no part?
That truth is this… you eat & drink too much.
We live in a world where people think food scarcity is Winco not having something in stock right this second.
Abundance is all around us. And that doesn’t make it bad. But it does mean we need to learn some self-control, exercise common sense, and learn how to gauge things.
Like what you put in your body. Quality does matter and I’m down with the natural food’s lifestyle. Whatever that means.
But you can still easily over-consume “high-quality healthy foods”. The thing most of us are missing is how to play the quantity game.
I bet if we all learned how to regulate the volume of food we consume as a culture we’d have less diabesity floating around.
Along with a host of other things.
It’s not the fault of any food or food group. It’s on you as an individual.
Here’s to taking control of our eating habits!
